Lavapies
used to be a Jewish and Moroccan part of the city. Today it is a place where
Moroccans, Chinese, South Americans, Indians, Senegalese and even Spanish
inhabitants are neighbours. Different languages and different cultures can be
found within the same barrio. Lavapies is formed by a mixture of colours,
clothing styles, types of food and drinks, different tastes, different memories
and nostalgias. But the inhabitants of this barrio are not only known by their
differences, all of them also share the same hopes and expectations.[1]
